Having grandparents who established their furniture business in 1904 and parents who followed on from this, it made sense for Robert to follow on the family tradition.  At the age of 25, not being called to the bar, or join the space programme, Robert decided to open a furniture store in Craven Arms.

Today, 40 years later Robert Machin is recognised for selling quality furniture, particularly chairs and beds.  Assisted by Tania Wilkes (Roberts’ daughter), or is Robert assisting Tania (the jury is still out!).

Many years of trading with the UK’s top manufactures mean Robert and Tania are bale to supply beautifully hand crafted suites and chairs by ‘Vale and Lloyd Loom’, and specialise in reclining chairs by ‘Sherborne and Celebrity’ plus electric riser/recliner chairs supplied form stock or at 21 day delivery for cover choice.

Solid wood framed glider chairs incorporating a recliner/swivel/lock with glider stools. ‘Farstrup’ back-care chairs form Denmark which are virtually made to measure (seat height and depths) also, made to measure mattresses/divans or bed frames are supplied at competitive prices within three weeks.  Again, bedroom furniture is supplied (fully assembled) mainly ‘Alstons with a short delivery time at very competitive prices.

Robert Machins’ is definitely an Aladdins Cave, having increased our floor space after extensive building work, completed in 2005 we have now a wonderful selection of reproduction furniture, and exquisite walnut and mahogany pieces by ‘Leeny Jones’ plus teak by ‘Sutcliffe’ to compliment our upholstered furniture with Free Delivery (within 30 mile radius) and a Personal Service, guaranteed.
